(Review)

With Sony Ericsson Yari, the buzz word is gesture gaming. Although Yari is a decent sporty looking feature rich slider with 5 mega pixel camera, good music quality,  GPS, Internet and so on.

Gesture Gaming:
Gesture gaming is the most amazing part of Yari. Using an optical tracker technology, Sony Ericsson Yari can use its camera to detect your movements in the compatible games and translate them into virtual actions.

There are two gesture based games - Tennis and Fitness. Both are easy to play. Place the phone on the desk in upright position. Stand in front of it and imagine you have a racket in hand. Now play... The front camera captures your movements and transforms them into actions in the game. It can be great fun if you have friends around. You can also have wireless multiplayer.

The design:
Yari has smart and sporty looks and its dimensions are comfortable in hand. It has 2.4"
262K color display with beautiful graphics and flash animations. The two small knobs above the screen are gaming keys accommodating a light sensor, a secondary camera and the earpiece in between. Below the screen is a spacious D-pad. Sliding the phone open reveals a rather flat 12-key alphanumeric keypad.

Camera:
Sony Ericsson Yari is equipped with a decent 5 megapixel auto focus camera having good image quality. Easy to use camera interface offers all contemporary features like Face detection, Smile shot and Geo tagging. Video recording on Yari is QVGA@30fps.

User Interface:

The customizable user interface has many themes to choose from and each comes with splendid animations and graphics. The main menu has all usual options like internet, camera, messaging along with media, entertainment, games and location services.

Media center offers options under the headings like photos, music, videos, games and web feeds. Each having numerous options as video sub menu offers You tube, podcasts etc while Photos sub menu comes with option of face book connectivity, photo tags, geo tags etc.

Internet:
The web browser preinstalled on Yari is NetFront 3.5 which renders web pages quickly on full screen and automatically sets the zoom for comfortable reading. While browsing, four important features are easily accessible on toolbar namely mini-map, address bar, favorites and downloads. Interestingly, you can copy text from web pages.
