LG GW550 smart phone is certainly a competition in the category of QWERTY devices being a high quality product powered by Windows Mobile 6.1. 

It is a very good phone for businessmen and professionals who need to answer email instantly on the go as you can synchronize your outlook mails, check your account on hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc. and also remain connected to your friends and contacts on facebook.

LG GW550 offers many Smart distinguishing features like - Smart Contacts that organizes up to 20 important people out of your contacts and manage them separately through easy icons where you can call, message or email them with one touch. Similarly Smart Applications give instant access to the applications you use most often. Smart Email takes you to a streamlined inbox that displays only pre-defined emails and ensures special delivery rights to your key contacts.

Although it makes the phone little wider the full QWERTY keyboard is convenient to work with and facilitates fast typing of emails. The keys are large, curved and spread out to enable precise input.

Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system along with document viewer for .doc, .xls, .ppt and .pdf files is a great advantage. Although you can't edit the documents.

The thin and elegant body is made up of quality material. The 2.4-inch TFT display has good resolution of 240x320 pixels. LG GW550 also has a 3 mega pixel main camera with upto 2048x1536 pixels resolution and a secondary VGA camera for video calls. The picture quality is satisfactory. You can also edit the pictures and video. USB and Bluetooth connectivity makes it easier to transfer pictures and documents between PC and other phones. The pictures and videos can be uploaded to YouTube also.

The GW550 has 48 MB internal memory while the memory card slot supports microSD card of up to 16GB capacity. The phone is equipped with a high capacity Li-Ion battery of 1300 mAh.

LG GW550 supports all messaging options like SMS, MMS, Email, IM and Push Email. It has T9 for predictive text input. You can also record and send Voice messages.

The phone also lets you synchronize To do bar, contacts and your music. The built-in stereo speakers are quite good. The music and video players support most of the popular formats.
